DC Divorce Laws, Child Support, and Attorneys
DC Residency Requirements
To file for DC divorce, one of the parties must have been a residence of DC for at least 6 months immediately prior to filing for divorce.
DC Divorce Grounds
The grounds for DC divorce are as follows:

Mutual voluntary separation without cohabitation for 6 months;

Living separate and apart without cohabitation for 1 year;

Adultery; and
